The Pergola

View to Cader Idris
Originally a semi-derelict building with attached cowshed and some significant architectural features Ty Nant has been painstakingly restored over four years by a skilled masterbuilder.

The original massive stone fireplace has been retained, in front of which is the lounge diner with 10 seater oak dining table and upstairs a large upper lounge with balcony looking towards the fireplace that is equipped with a woodburner.

There is a large divided bedroom upstairs with its own bathroom and is suitable for groups or a family. It is fitted with 4 beds but extra children could be accommodated with ease. There are 3 more ensuite double bedrooms all on the ground floor.
We operate a no smoking policy. The accommodation is suitable for large groups of any kind or families sharing.

If you're looking for an outstanding place to stay in the Snowdonia National Park, then look no further than our recently refurbished Welsh Longhouse.. Ty Nant.
It has undergone complete renovation making extensive use of local materials such as slate and stone and is now available to rent.

Ty Nant is situated near the ancient market town of Dolgellau and is convenient for the beach resorts of Barmouth and Fairbourne, the bike trails of the Coed y Breninand the mountains of Southern Snowdonia.

Bordering the village of Llanelltyd, and within walking distance of the Mawddach restaurant (300 metres), the ancient ruins of Cymer Abbey (800 metres) and the old bridge across the Mawddach 650 metres), Ty Nant contains four en-suite bedrooms housing up to 10 people.
With landscaped gardens, a stream and woodland extending to 1.4 acres, a spacious lounge/diner and state-of-the-art kitchen, this property goes just that much further to satisfy people's every requirement, want and need.

Ty Nant is surrounded by walking trails not the least being the New Precipice Walk (being accessible from a gate within the grounds),the Penmaenpool Trail (1.5 miles distant) and the various routes up Cader Idris (the best starting point being Gwernan Lakesome 4 miles away). The view of Cader Idris from Ty Nant is impressive (in good weather!)

Mountain-bikers can choose from a plethora of mountain-biking trails with the Coed-y-Brenin centre located six miles to the north and the Machynlleth trails a 20 minute drive to the South.

Nearby waterfalls include the Rhaeadr Mawddach and Pistyll Cain, and impressive rivers such as the Eden, Wnion and Mawddach which is a mere 100 metres or so from Ty Nant (less at high tide!)

Lakes include Llyn Cynych within the Precipice Walk, Gwernan Lake (4 miles), Llyn Cau at the foot of Cader Idris (6 miles) and Tal y Llyn in the Dysynni valley just 15 minutes drive away.
Local narrow gauge railways are the Tal y Llyn, Bala, Ffestiniog and Fairbourne

So whether it's spending days by a river or on the beach, touring the battlements at Harlech or trekking up local mountains and hills, or hurtling around some singletrack, Ty Nant or Glyn-yr-Aur (our other smaller let)provide the perfect base camp from which to do it all.
